It's common knowledge that buying a well-fitted bra can be a hassle. The sheer variety of sizes and styles might be overwhelming. Getting plus-size underwear that does not cost a fortune is particularly difficult. With so many lingerie shops in Canada and online, choosing a store specializing in what you are looking for is crucial, even if challenging.
Measuring for a Bigger Bust
A proper fit changes how the breast tissue weight is distributed and can reduce strain on your spine and shoulders. Finding large bras that look good and feel good can be hard. One thing can make everything easier, though: proper measuring.
An Extra-Easy Process for Accurate Results
Before you order your new brassiere, measure yourself! Do not rely on the size of your old one; a woman's body can quickly change, and undergarments can stretch with wear.
No need to go to a bra fitting shop to determine which size is best for you! A simple tape measure is all you will need to do it at home for no cost. Wear an unpadded, wireless bra or no bra at all for the most accurate results.
- Determine the band length. Start by wrapping a measuring tape around your rib cage, just below your bust. Make sure the tape is even and not too loose. The band should feel snug but not tight.
- Measure the bust circumference. Now, the tape should go around the fullest portion of your breasts, under the shoulder blades. Make sure you don't hold the tape too loosely!
- Find your cup size. To find out, subtract your band measurement from your chest measurement. A curvy woman can have a small or big cup—one-size-fits-all does not work here!
Almost every online store offers a size chart that can assist shoppers in deciding which one to buy. Consult it before placing an order, as sizes may vary by brand.
Plus Size Bra: Tips and Tricks for a Flawless Fit
The measurements are a great way to calculate what size to choose, but there are other things to consider when you want to buy new lingerie.
- Embrace your asymmetry. If your breasts are different sizes, choose the bigger cup. This will ensure that both breasts are supported and do not spill out.
- For extra support, choose wide, adjustable straps. They can also help with back or shoulder pain.
- A wider band can offer extra comfort. Reinforced cups provide a comfortable lift and additional fullness, too.
- Go for a solid hook-and-eye closure. A tight fit will prevent the bra from unexpectedly coming undone. You can choose back close or front close, whatever your preference!
- Experiment! With so many variations available for an affordable price, a woman can easily get lost in the selection. A full-coverage underwire bra is a popular choice for a curvy lady, but you can try different ones to find your preferred model.
You do not have to stick to the same old, boring bra. Be it sport or lace, there is a piece for every full-figured lady to feel great in. Remember, it is the clothing that should fit you, not the other way around.
