Your questions, answered.

What is the difference between a molded bra and a padded bra?

“Molded” refers to a cup that has been formed into a set shape during production. “Padded” refers to additional material or cushioning inside the cup. A molded bra may be padded, lightly lined or unlined, depending on its construction.

Are all molded bras seamless?

Molded cups are formed without seams running across the cup itself, but the finished bra may still include seams, lace, trims or textured fabric elsewhere. For the smoothest appearance under clothing, check both the cup construction and the outer fabric.

What is the difference between a molded bra and a T-shirt bra?

A molded bra is defined by its pre-shaped cup construction. A T-shirt bra is designed primarily to create a smooth appearance under close-fitting clothing. Many T-shirt bras have molded cups, but not every molded bra has the plain, smooth finish associated with a T-shirt bra.

How should molded bras be washed and stored?

Follow the care instructions on the garment label. In most cases, gentle hand washing helps protect the cup shape. Store molded bras without folding one cup into the other, and avoid placing heavy garments on top of the cups.
